Car Sharing: A waste of space in the UK

It has been estimated that around sixty per cent of all car journeys in the UK are made with just one person in the car, obviously if car sharing was introduced and taken up in a big way this could reduce the amount of congestion created, but it is not completely assured that by taking a passenger along with them, this would actually reduce the cars on the roads.
