The engine is low tech and does not have things such as throttle by wire, direct injection, VTEC(or similar). While it can cruise at speeds of 80 mph, it feels like you are really having to push it to maintain the speed and feels out of its element. It does not feel as lively off the line as other Ford models I have driven with the same engine; perhaps gearing has something to do with it, It is rated at the obligatory 140hp, a standard it seems in the compact(not economy) market. It is no speed demon, but at the current price of $4.23 for a gallon of gas that has somehow lost all it's importance to me. How times change. Now I worry more about keeping my speed between 60-65 mph without being run over by all the other speed demons. As a side note, in about 85% highway driving I averaged 31 mpg. Not the 35 mpg they advertise so heavily, but I was driving a rental car so admittedly I was driving it harder and faster than I normally would.

No gripes about the suspension. It soaks up bumps without losing composure and has good high speed stability. The steering felt just right. Not to firm and not too loose. Neutral you could say. I did a fair amount of low speed cornering in this car coming back down the mountain from Yosemite and the car behaved well with only modest body roll. The grip was obviously limited by the tires, but still decent for a car in this class.

I almost did not mention the transmission or brakes, because they are so ordinary. Nothing good or bad to say. Performed just as you would expect in a lower priced car. 4 speed automatic and front disc/rear drum brake set up. My preference is the manual transmission, which is an option as a 5 speed.

The areas I feel the car lacking in are attention to detail. It's the little things that were not included or simply left out that really makes me disappointed. After giving this quite some thought I think their emphasis was on the "SYNC" system, which is their audio/verbal command system which is a join

The new Explorer has done a lot of work to bring luxury to the Ford lineup that was never truly there before outside of the minimal luxury in the Expeditions of the past. One of the major additions to the vehicle is the implementation of wood grain interior down the center panel, which features a disc changer, sirius satellite radio, and of course a navigation system.

Other features to the 4WD Explorer on the Limited package includes items such as fold away side mirrors with quick thaw so that you will easily be able to get going in the morning regardless of how fogged up your vehicle may be.

Another excellent internal feature is the perfect fit pedals which are completely adjustable for the individual rider. For me this was a major improvement that really added to my own personal comfort. Since I am so used to driving cars and racing, the addition of adjustable pedals allowed me to pull the pedals forward for a much more aggressive feel while in the seat. Just because I drive an Explorer doesn't mean I should feel like I am driving a bus.

Our Fusion is the base S model, and it is a terrific car for the money. The ride/handling compromise is just right, and the powerful brakes have excellent pedal feel. The body is very solid and it is quiet at speed for a mid-priced sedan. I was concerned that the 4 cylinder with automatic would be underpowered, but it revs freely and is just fine for a family car. Plus, the 4 gets respectable mileage and its light weight contributes to the nimble handling. Some of the magazines quibble about the 5 speed automatic, but I don't know how it could be much better.

My husband and I purchased ours last year and June and we have been extremely pleased with our Escape. We chose the 4 cylinder XLT model. It gets great gas mileage-about 24 to 27 on the open highway and about 19 to 23 in city traffic driving.

The interior is a nice and classier upgrade from the previous year models. Ours came with a sunroof which gives it a sporty touch. Plenty of leg room in driver and passenger sides. The radio panel is very easy to use and all of the controls are arranged in a user friendly manner. The back seats collapse to fit larger cargo if needed. We have found it takes about 3 minutes with two people to fold the seats down and about 5 minutes by yourself.

The rear brakes really should be disc brakes instead of drum brakes..

Overall if you are looking for good gas mileage in an SUV then do consider this car in your shopping. I have seen an large increase of them on the roads last year since their introduction.

I decided to treat myself to one nice sedan to drive all the time. I had narrowed my choices down to the Audi A6 and the BMW 535i. I knew the XF was coming in March so I figured I would throw that into the mix. The styling of the car is very clean and solid. The front is aggressive and the rear is Aston-Martin like in it's swoopy lines. The XF comes in 3 trim levels;Premium, Premium Luxury, and Supercharged. Jaguar has done a good job pricing this car and in base premium level it is basically a loaded car. The premium luxury adds bigger wheels, nav, a leather dash, perforated leather seats, and a few other bits. I drove the Premium Luxury as the price point was closest to the BMW which I have resigned myself to getting. The interior is a work of art. Fit and finish is perfect and it is very clean in design. All cars come with keyless go, so as long as you have the fob with you, you just get in and start the car. When the car starts the techno fun begins. The covered air vent slots magically open and the gear selecter knob which recesses into the center console rises up to great you. Turn the knob to D or S and off you go. Pick up is fast and smooth, equal to that of the 535i. Both cars have the same 300hp. It is fuel injected in the Jag and the BMW has a twin turbo. The car is a little more softly sprung than the BMW, even with the 19" wheels and tires. It rolls a little more in the turns but overall the car drives beautifully. The center dash screen houses all the in car utilities, like BMW's i-drive, but uses touch rather than a joy stick. There are secondary audio and climate control areas on the dash as well. The only complaint I had while driving was the glare created off of the chrome gear selector and the chrome trim in the center console was annoying. Jaguar has done a fantastic job with this car.

When the Spanish arrived in the New World some 500 years ago in their enormous wooden sailing ships, it is said the indigenous people standing on the shore literally did not see the great vessels on the horizon because they simply weren’t a part of their world—their visual reality. It took a few days for the wondrous ships to register, to become part of the natives

IT'S a car that will never be sold in Europe, but the tiny Tata Nano drew the biggest crowds at this week's motor show in Geneva.
To be fair, many of the journalists weren't there to see the "people's car", which sells for just £1700 in India.
Instead they were hoping Tata chairman Ratan Tata would announce that his company had finalised the deal to buy Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford.
Pre-show rumours suggested an announcement was imminent - but Tata only wanted to talk Tata.
He confirmed the N
