Areas for improvement: Thirsty!
One tyre was out of round and replaced by the dealer.
Hit a pothole which bent 2 rims and ruined another tire, requiring replacement. Pirelli replaced the tire without charge.
Fuel economy is poor in mixed suburban driving, 14-15 mpg. Motorway is better, about 21 mpg.
I have the 17inch wheel option, low profile tires. These are particularly susceptible to damage from potholes, since there is not much tire between the wheel and the ground. However the wide tires do contribute to the handling, so I would buy them again.
Aside from the poor mileage I have been very happy with the A6 Avant (wagon). It's smooth, comfortable, peppy, and handles like a true European sports sedan. There is lots of room with the rear seats down, and with the seats up, rear seat passengers find the ride very comfortable. The car looks good, draws favorable comments, and is practical. Can't go wrong!
